The motor was first embraced by CJ Rayburn's Indiana-based NASRA series in mid-2009, and was instantly successful in competition. The UFo Race Championship immediately recognized the value of this low-cost, competitive motor and will implement this motor option in 2010. With a list price of around $7,200 and $1,800 of external add-ons, a race team may now go Super Late Model racing for approximiately $9,000 in motor cost! This is a true,
aluminum block, Super Late Model motor. The 6.2L motor is One key to the cost savings of this motor is that any internal modifications are prohibited. The motor is factory sealed with GM encrypted bolts that do not allow the motor to be disassembled. This prevents costly machine work and interchanging to expensive motor parts. A motor in which the seal has been broken other than for track tech purposes will not be legal for UFo competition.
